Yet I Will Rejoice
MAKE THIS ABOUT REASONS WHY, NOT FACTS
This piece was written for, and premiered by an ensemble at Lakeview Baptist Church, in Auburn, AL. This piece remains one of the most meaningful to me. The text essentially says “even though everything looks hopeless, yet I will rejoice in the Lord.” This text really spoke to me during one of the hardest times in my life, and so I was eager to set it to music. I hope that the music effectively conveys to the listener the emotions I felt during those times, including the assurance that things are never truly hopeless.
Though the fig tree should not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vine,
The produce of the olive fail,
And the fields yield no fruit
Though the flock be cut off from the fold
And there be no herds in the stalls
Yet I will rejoice.
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
At a glance
NOTE: I want this to remain in some regard. This section will be “Updates” for unreleased works; and “at a glance” for released. I need a “Release Date” rather than “Completed, and Premiered.” Ensemble Directors will need Instrumentation, Duration, Voice Ranges to remain.
